The slow cooker makes it easy to make tender beef in a tasty sauce with Korean influences.
Ingredients:
- 1
- 5 lbs beef chuck roast, sliced thinly
- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Green onions, sliced, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions:
Soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger, and crushed red pepper flakes should all be put into a slow cooker
Put the sliced beef in the slow cooker and mix it with the sauce
For 4 to 6 hours, or until the beef is soft, cover and cook on low heat
To make a slurry, mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl
Add the slurry to the slow cooker and stir it around
Cook on high for another 20 to 30 minutes, or until the sauce gets thicker
Put it on top of rice and add sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top
Have fun
