Maryland Style Fried Chicken is a classic Southern dish known for its crispy exterior and juicy, tender meat. The buttermilk marinade ensures the chicken stays moist and flavorful while frying.
Ingredients:
- 4 chicken thighs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
In a bowl, marinate chicken thighs in buttermilk for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator
In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat
Dredge chicken thighs in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess
Carefully place chicken thighs in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes per side
Remove chicken from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate
Serve hot and enjoy
